My mission
It has been a vibrant week, mainly with poker and Twitch. I have been hanging low on the social media and Youtube grind and frankly also on the study grind. I am really happy with the switch to the morning schedule, it really gives me more flexibility, streams have been great. Summer is always a great time to triple down on streaming, lots of people go out for the WSOP, some are taking some time off to go on holiday, so it is a great time to step up your game and get some momentum going. Last year I did the same, kinda got me partnership with Twitch. But I screwed it later on, I was drained, wasn't playing the best poker (obviously I was way worse back then compared to now) but I kept playing because I didn't want to not show up, I made mistakes. Cost me a lot of money and viewership, rightfully so. But I learned from it.
This year I am doing things differently. I am trippling down on streaming, but I have decided to take one day in the week off poker to recharge, to feel in control, to study and to relax. Sundays are booming in poker. There is a lot of variance, meaning lots of losing, but when you win you win big. It is also busy on Twitch, meaning less viewership. Long story short: it is draining and not good for your confidence and as you know that is detrimental for me, that's why I have decided to take Sundays off. Just not schedule anything, if I feel like playing, I'll play. If I feel like studying, I'll study. If I feel like updating the blog, I update the blog. As I just love hustling, growing the brand, pulling strings... very often I am still pretty productive on Sundays.
I love to observe, look at other people. Don't get it twisted, I am stilll focussing on me and no one else, I am just looking, to reverse engineer. Looking at what people are doing well, looking at what people aren't doing well. Looking at what works, looking at what doesn't. Looking for opportunities, new ideas. Sometimes involving things that I do not have the reach for yet or the resources or the skills. So sometimes I just gotta be patient and wait till I do, sometimes I look for other ways to get it done, for example by collaborating. But by working with others, you start to depend on others as well, which can bring some issues. People may not have the same vision as you, people may not have the same work ethic as you or people just turn around and do it themselves without you. The thing is, there is nothing you can do about it other than accept it. So that's what I do, I just keep looking for opportunities, some go lost one way or another, but I'm stilll pretty young, I have the time. I have to try to stay patient.
I also want to talk about something else. The past months have been a lot of up and down, bankroll wise, stream wise and mood wise. Every moment has it's own pros and cons, it's own difficulties. The past week, we have had a lot of deep runs, but not a lot of scores, we have been bricking them. What I picked up from chat, is people being surprised that I am annoyed after bricking something or people telling me what to do. Some people with the best intentions. I stream every single day, of course I have my bad days, we all do. On these days I could go fronting and give you guys the best positive stream ever. I could, but I am on a different mission.
My mission is to inspire and help you, to get yours, together, as a team. Because I know, because I lack it, how worthy it is to have someone that understands what you are doing and why you are doing it. Someone that has been going through the same process, that knows the difficulties you have to face, someone that supports you no matter what, someone that helps you unleash your ambition. The only way I can be that guy, is by being as genuine as possible. Show you the whole tedious process. I understand that not everyone likes that, there are people that just want to watch to have a great time and don't give a F about anything else, I get it and respect it. I hope you also respect my point of view, luckily nowadays there is so much content available that if you don't like it, you can watch someone else. You don't have to be that guy that tunes into a channel to tell someone you don't like them and they should stop tilting or streaming or whatever. Just let people do their thing, if they think that's best for their goals let them. Show support to the ones you love and drop showing hate to the ones you don't.
