Don’t Settle For Average
It’s been a month since I decided to quit poker and with that streaming, to really focus on this new journey of building a marketing agency. Since then I have still been occupied with poker actually, of course by still being active in Discord but also by working with Raise Your Edge, but I also took on a project to do 10 webinars for a poker summer camp which finished this week. So other than working with Raise Your Edge, I don’t have any obligations connected to poker anymore. Some say this is a big risk and it might be, but to be fair I am feeling pretty comfortable and actually feel like I want to move even faster and bigger than people assume I will.
If I fail miserably, so be it
Looking around me, reading comments, dm’s.. I feel like so many are not taking the risks they maybe should. They opt to go the safe route, to settle with average. If that makes them happy, awesome! But mostly this is not the case, they are just okay with it. I think this is such a shame, you only live once.. better give it your all, maybe fail miserably, but at least you have tried! Because you can never go back, you can never try it all over again. Also when you are young you have way less responsibilities and can afford taking those risks more.
So you have some people settling for average, because it’s easy. You also have people that are afraid to take risks, because they are afraid to lose what they have. This is very often the case with “older” people, people that have already built something up. This fear causes them to also not fulfill their full potential. It causes them sometimes to be taken advantage of, this is especially the case with entrepreneurs. If the people you work with think you are afraid to lose them, what do you think happens? Exactly, they are going to leverage that! That’s why it’s important to diversify. Whether it is diversifying your portfolio with investing, having good bankroll management in poker or spreading risk by having multiple streams of revenue. Also saving money, so you don’t need the job, will help make you less dependent and be able to navigate with your potential in mind and not your short term financial situation.
Long story short, don’t settle for average. It may seem okay now, but you may regret it later on. Don’t settle for average and be afraid to lose what you have. Don’t settle for average and know your worth, continue learning and growing and don’t let people take advantage of you. Don’t settle for average and surround yourself with people that support you and make you a better you, instead of people that try to hold you back and keep you small. Don’t settle for average and start chasing your goals. Keep things moving and enjoy the journey!
You are by no means only what you already know. You are also that which you could know, if you only would. Thus, you should never sacrifice what you could be for what you are. You should never give up the better that resides within for the security you already have and certainly not when you have already caught a glimpse, an undeniable glimpse, of something beyond.
