On the right course

A week has passed since "my return". Kinda funny we are talking about a return when I don't stream for a week. Anyhow, like almost always when I take a break it has been doing me good. I really believe the quality of the stream went up a fair bit, talking way more through my hands, playing better because of that, more interaction with chat... so really happy with that. That being said, that doesn't mean it reflects that in the numbers and it doesn't.

Looking at Twitch numbers over the past 2 years.. there really hasn't been that much growth for me which is somewhat worry some. There for sure is more competition now on Twitch, but in my opinion the biggest reason why I haven't had that much growth on Twitch is because of myself. Which is not necessarily a bad thing, it really depends of course what your goals are. And my goals have never been to become the biggest, more to the become the most influential. This difference is pretty big, but in all honesty I have also just not been the best version of myself. I have been working hard on getting better on a lot of aspects, I have started focusing on other social platforms too, it may just take a lot of time till this is really going to reflect itself in the numbers. Patience is a must, as well as constantly reassessing and reflecting on your goals.

"Crushing my goals for 2019"

If we look at the goals I have set for myself for 2019, I am actually doing extremely good. These were the pillar goals:

Spend more time with friends and family. Have taken more time to be completely off and spend it with friends and family, to watch a movie for example and this weekend I will be going to a Festival with friends.

Create more structure. Been really hammering on this and more and more it starts to come. Currently I am really doing everything I can to stick to streaming/grinding in the morning, so I can do all my other work in the night and keep a nice and healthy sleeping schedule. Planning has been a big influence in this and also including time off in it, has been a positive change. I feel like I am wasting less time, working more effectively and doing more often what I want and also then should be doing as I first take care of the things that will get me the closest to my goals.

Positivity -> keep that mindset right (gain confidence main one!). Still been having lots of ups and downs, but this is really normal. The downs have been less down though as well as less long, so certainly making progress on that too.

Study more poker and put in more volume. Because I work more structured, I also study more structured. Not as many random handreviews anymore and been taking more notes. I haven't been putting in much more volume though when grinding, this because my goal is not to become nr. 1 pokerplayer. I know I have been slowly shifting each time towards playing more tables, but it went at cost of my mindset, happiness and the quality of the stream. So I am constantly trying to remind myself that that is not the way to go for me as it doesn't map my goals.

Consistent flow of content. Absolutely crushing this one.

Continue to inspire and motivate people. There may be no growth on twitch average viewer wise, but I do think especially with the blog section in discord, that we are doing fairly well.

Continue to grow the community. Other than Twitch.. everything else is doing numbers, especially Instagram. So thumbs up on this one.If you look at my first blog of the year, you see lots of measurable goals. I don't want to touch on each and everyone of them. Most of them we are absolutely crushing, 3K followers on Instagram and 1K on Twitter were the goal for this year for example. Currently we are at 2750 on Instagram and 990 on Twitter, so most likely we will reach those this month already. BB/100 has become fairly irrelevant, this because my schedule mainly consists of bounties and turbos which heavily impact your BB/100 and the classic guidelines really do not apply to that. One of the biggest achievements that I reached this year that I had somewhat set for myself, was getting to work with a poker company. I was fortunate enough to getting to work with the company, that I was hoping to work with. It is all still really early and I am looking forward to what the future has to bring.

"This year I have been taking way more action"

The previous years I really feel like I have just been messing around, wasting lots of time, but I also in the meantime feel like this is a necessary step in the process. A lot of mistakes, downswings, in the long run teach you a lot of things. Very often when you look back on it, you are somewhat thankful you went through that, while when you were in it you absolutely hated it. The main thing I have changed this year has been working more structured and being able to take more action. This has allowed me to go way faster at where I want to go. Whereas before, I wasn't moving at all or at things that were taken me into the wrong direction. That's why I keep encouraging you to start your own blog, get inputs from other's but also get a nice overview for yourself.

You gotta keep trying stuff, so you learn and experience new things and get to know what you enjoy the most. I personally enjoy the business side of streaming and poker the most. I like the grind, but probably not enough to do it till I am 65. So I am more moving towards what I enjoy the most, which still allows me to stream and create content. Currently working on making myself more valuable in the positions I am already in, establish myself more and slowly but surely work my way up. It is all based on adding value, adding more than that you get. If you ask someone for $20, most likely they will say no. If you say that you will give $100, but want $20 of it back, guess what? You will get $20 back.

So the coming week(s) I will just continue in the direction I am going into, mindset is good.. scores and other results will follow eventually.
